The Call For Us All
Mark 16:15
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
This verse is what is known as the Great Commission. Here, Jesus commands His followers to carry the Good News of His resurrection globally to all humanity. “Go ye” is an active command to move out rather than wait. “All the world” means the mission has no geographical boundaries. “Preach the gospel” is proclaiming the “Good News” of Christ’s death, burial, and victory over death. “Every creature” refers to all human beings.
If you are saved, then you must tell others about Christ. This verse is a command, not a suggestion. It does not say, “Go tell the gospel to the ones who are not going to get offended”. The Gospel, in Christian theology, is meant to be offensive. It points out a lost soul’s pride and sin. You see, Jesus did not come to the world to preach to the righteous, He came to preach to sinners. It is of the utmost importance to understand that Jesus came into the world just so He could be executed for the sake of humanity. He died for the sins of the world. That includes everyone, even you and me. But not only that, He rose on the third day from the grave, proving that He is greater than death, where He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, praying for all who believe. Yes, the Gospel is offensive, but it is also beautiful, because it shows just how much Jesus loves sinners. So be encouraged, as you go into the world today, that Jesus has paved the way for you to tell someone about His wonderful love.
