Reckoning
Romans 8:18
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Everybody is going through some kind of trial, or at least has at some point in their lives. Life as we know it is fleeting. And although periods of pain can seem to take forever, it is but a mere moment compared to the wonderful glory we will experience when we die, if we are saved. Job suffered greatly, but he maintained a loyalty to God. God allowed Satan to touch all Job had and he literally lost everything. All of his family and wealth and health and servants were taken from him in a day. But when God was through with Job, He restored him with double the wealth he had before, new children, health and a long life. He was also restored in honor, with his friends and family coming to comfort him, and he lived to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the fourth generation. This is a picture of what God is saying in Romans 8:18. No matter what we go through, we will not be able to compare it to the wonderful, marvelous glory we will get to experience one day. Praise God!
